Garden Party

Along with the plants we ordered from Spring Hill Nursery, Daniel and I also went to Lowe’s this past weekend to pick up a few plants for our backyard side garden. We just finished adding the last scoop of compost (1 ton is $10 from the landfill), so now comes the hard part of waiting until everything grows!

We planted several varieties of tomatoes, two seedless grapevines (red and green), and a banana pepper plant. Take a peek at their starting point. I’ll try to remember to update pictures occasionally so you can see how they (hopefully) flourish.

Everything is all lined up:

We also added a couple more mint bushes to the round bed in the backyard (because who doesn’t love mint in the summertime):

And this one is totally unrelated to gardening, but my bike was looking super cute, and I think this shot captures the beauty of the afternoon. The weather was gorgeous; the sun was shining.

And I almost forgot: our plants from Spring Hill Nursery shipped today! Expect to see a MAJOR transformation of the front of the house in the very near future.

Thank you! For all of the hard work, it’s definitely been worth it to see the transformation, and I’m really looking forward to a nice tomato sandwich. :)
